Well, it now works!!

Thank you very much for your assistance, Lord of The Rings!!

To get Limewire to work again, I had to do as you said about bothe eliminating the Limewire folder in the applications folder, and ensure that the firewall is off, or if there is one, make sure that there is an exception for Limewire.
I also had to delete the version that was installed, and do a regedit, deleting references to Limewire. (Only do this if you know what you are doing).
Also, again as you said, delete those versions of Jave, and D/L, and install the OFFLINE version of Java.

After doing that, all is well in whoville once again!!
