The only registry changes I've heard of with the old Morpheus were done by the FastTrack network itself and it was done to disable Morpheus, not cripple your internet. Basically, when Music City failed to pay their bills for their license to use the FastTrack software, Kazaa/Sharman Networks (owners of FastTrack) issued a command to Morpheus which modified a registry entry that disabled Morpheus' ability to further access the FastTrack network. While it might be a coincidence that your internet problems started showing up around the same time, I have serious doubt that the two incidents are connected.

What is more likely might be because of the issue discussed in the thread that "Unregistered" posted above. If you've installed the new Morpheus Preview Edition lately, then your internet might be adversely affected by the spyware that was installed. Check out that thread for further details.
