OH ... I forgot to mention ... well if this process doesn't work, then run this small utility Crap Cleaner to clean up registry & try installing LW again.
Sometimes fragments of older versions are not removed properly so using a registry cleaner such as above will get rid of those parts that might be interfering with installing or running a particular program.
