The problem with viruses etc. is not LimeWire, but what some sponsored groups spam the gnutella network with in an attempt to prevent copyright sharing. There are many gnutella programs, LimeWire is simply one of them so you can't exactly blame your particular thoughts mentioned above on one particular program. p2p which includes torrents is obviously not for you.
