Aside from the possibility that the disk itself is at fault,
here's another utility that might help: Unlocker

If that still doesn't cut it grab the Seagate software on your install CD or get it from
their site and scan your disk for errors. Even if you did use normal disk repair
software, the Seagate stuff is still probably the only one that has direct access to
the hardware.
