Problem with AOL is you never know which ISP you are 'really' connected through. AOL rents lines thru a local ISP in your area, so the local ISP's rules apply (whether you realise or not, so p2p bandwith shaping or p2p blocking could occur without your knowledge.)

That might be part of your problem.

AOL's ip's tend to be dynamic as well which doesn't help.

ie: good idea to investigate the policies of the local ISP's in your area if using AOL. Find out if they have anti-p2p attitudes.
