Does it happen all the time or only occasionally? Make a note of the file sizes shown. There are many spammed files on the gnutella network & some are viruses posing as mp3's or wma files.
* Music Files with no bit rate showing are almost always going to be spam.
* Music Files that show bit rate but very minimal id3 tag (or LW description tag) information when you hover your cursor over the file in the search results may be spam depending on file size usually.
In example image below, the top search result was via searching a rubbishy term. The second was via searching a legitimate music file (file name withheld.) Make a note of those file sizes.
What I do is right-click the search result (control-click for mac users) & choose to ban those hosts. Of course they have large networks & dynamic ip's, however getting rid of several from spamming your results will help to bring in proper search results. I recommend only searching song title or artist or album. Do not search both else it tends to invite spam.
