Re-search the file periodically to try to find more sources to download from. You can also use the Get More Results option by right-clicking the search results tab & choosing that option (OSX users use Control-click). I use this option all the time,
periodically getting more results (perhaps every 30 or 60 mins 'if' needed). Eventually simply doing a fresh search. Remember gnutella programs have a scope of search & they will never reach the entire network, only a % of it, else searches would take hours to return (I used other p2p sharing programs like that in past.) People are coming on & off line all the time so finding new sources is the best way to go.
If a file stops or goes to zero speed for too long, I will sometimes cancel it & reselect from the search results (knowing it's the same one via the download icon in search results.)
