Have you tried a Safe Boot, then a regular restart to see if the problem persists? Installing into a brand new User Account (available in System Preferences)?

If so, run Applications->Utilities->Console and see what error messages you get when LW crashes. Post the relevant details, or PM me with the details and I'll see if I can help figure out the problem.
