Lots of bad files are shared. Some are shared to sabotage p2p & some are shared because people aren't aware that the file they're sharing is a fake or infected.
Virus thread: Typical virus spam file sizes - Make a note of them (click on blue link to see) * WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of ! * Fake files showing up in search results
If you were to download a file that was marked on Bitzi as dangerous or misleading, you'd take the risk of downloading an infected file. You might just find you've downloaded a file that won't play, but then again you could end up with a virus. I don't think it's worth the risk!!
Try varying your search terms. Look for artist or album name rather than song title, or actors' & director's name rather than movie title. Try the 'All Types' search. Try files with 10 sources or less, or files with a single modem source.
Always make sure that you're using a good antivirus (AV) program. Keep it updated & use it to scan all files that you download - before you open them.
iTunes will only play certain formats. Try VLC player. It's free & has codecs installed to play most file types. There's a link for download here:

Don't have more than 1 codec pack installed at a time or you'll run into problems.
