Default Infected by a virus from a download last night

Hello,
My son put me onto your site and I decided to download some songs. My system is Vista and my version of Limewire is 4.18.8.and I use Norton's 2009 security. I tried 7 times to download the following song: Sounds So Good by Ashton Shepard. Twice I got a corrupted file notice and I cleared the song out. Finally the song downloaded and I did not receive a Nortons warning. When I went to shut down my laptop I noticed some weird screens and it took forever. In about an hour I tried to make a cd and got my first Norton's warning. The virus is: Trojan.Brisv.A!inf. States the virus has to be removed manually. I am not computer literate so I had to call Norton's fee based service. Norton's showed I had a total of 7 "installations" of this virus, originating from Limewire. I live on a disability pension and this cost me over a hundred dollars last night for 4 hours work. This is the kicker. When the tech asked me what I had been doing when I received the message ,I told him downloading music,I did not mention Limewire. He then asked me if I was using Lime wire and if the song was Sounds So Good by Ashton Shepard...... I said yes and he was correct about the song and artist .He said they had several calls last night with this problem from Limewire and the song Sounds So Good by Ashton Shepard. I am so upset that I don't know what to do but I felt someone had to know that something is going on. Can't this site protect us? I am so new that I don't know what you offer us in the way of protection. Is this the companies way to get us to buy the program? And if the program is purchased is it better protected, virus wise? Of course now I have to wait for over a month to even tjhink about buying it because this really hurt my budget so bad getting it fixed last night. My son is in the Army and he is my tech guy, he was so angry last night about what happened to me. He can't wait to see how you can resolve this before his next group meeting then he thinks his battalion should know about what happened,(I guess Limewire is very popular with them) I would appreciate any and all help or info about what I can do to protect my self or do I have any recourse. Or as a last resort about purchasing the pro version. Please Help!!!!!
