As for your problem, you are free to go back to LW 4.18 as others have complained of same issue. On LW's download page is an 'Older Versions' link.

LimeWire 5.0.11 reminds me of Windows Vista where lots of businesses demanded an option in their licence to reinstall XP & lots of businesses refused to upgrade to VISTA due to the problems it caused other businesses.
