Yes the advanced features of the nVidia cards can cause problems for some people.

Other alternatives I can think of: are you using LW 5? Did this problem happen with LW 4? Too many shares to load might be an issue. LW 5 does not like too many shared files (or too many incomplete files).

For some people, the version of Java was an issue. Java 1.6_5 I think was a version that solved issues for both some Linux & some windows users; Archive: Download Java Platform Standard Edition (Java SE) 6u5
