Go to LW's menu bar, Tools -> Advanced Tools. Now you will see a connection window. Right-click the ultrapeer you have been connected to the longest, choose Remove. It might take from a few seconds to several minutes for LW to find another ultrapeer to connect to & stabilize connection. Once the connection bars are all green again. Try another search & see if any improvement. Actually, if you see any LW 4 ultrapeers listed, remove those ones, they are more likely to be spammers.

It would also be possible to use some known decent ultrapeers to add manually, though this should not be necessary. Use the gnutella.net file list, open it with Wordpad or such, take one of the ip addresses & add that (copy-paste). Also add the port number at end of it in the port box LW has. Just add the ip address, not the rubbish after the port number.
