Are you sharing your iTunes library? If yes, and your iTunes is auto-copying the songs to its own library, then you will end up with two shared copies.

IF that is the scenario, then just choose to share your iTunes library instead of both that & your download folder. Command comma keys to access preferences, then click on Downloads & disable option to share files immediately after downloading.
