Default Downloaded songs on LW that were infected

I almost lost my new computer downloading songs from limewire, I have only the basic Limewire 5.1.2 if I was to download pro LW would this prevent the problem of getting files that have a virus. I very leary on downloading anything now from LW. I first noticed a problem last month when I was trying to download songs, Norton was able to remove the virus. With the old LW I was able to see type of file I wanted (mp3 or wma etc). Since I'am still learning how LW works I did some hunting around on the forums to find out how to prevent the type of files I don't want to download. I have kept my eye open on the type of files and size, but a couple of days ago when I had downloaded afew songs, I thought were safe, but three of them were infected 2 song by F***h H**l ( L**e *e N*v*r L*v*d *t A*l & T*e S*cr*t L**e both singles mp3) The other I don't even remember downloading K***y C*e***y mp3. Who ever the P2P was that I had downloaded the songs from tried to hijack my computer. Thank Goodness, I have Norton 360 and it was able to prevent the hijack & help me remove the infected files. This is why I'm very leary of downloading & using LW or sharing my music files until I know if LW pro will solve this from happen again. So If I was to stop using the basic LW and change to Pro LW would this prevent downloading bad files. I would like to think that this wasn't a (P2P) person like myself that had infected those files letting others download & tried to hijack my computer. Can LW tell who the P2P was that I had downloaded the songs from if I was to give the title, artist & date downloaded, I would hate to see anyone else lose there computer, it was a very scarey & bad feeling what had happened after downloading those songs & not having any control of what was happening to my computer for a short time until Norton was able to stop the hijack. Very happy that I have paid for a good program Norton 360 to prevent this. When I bought my new computer six months ago I wanted to download pro LW but I noticed LW doesn't have a secure site to give creditcard information. My husband has always said to me you get what you pay for, free is not always the best. Hopefully someone from LW will have an answer in helping me. (Will downloading pro LW help prevent this from happening again or if there is any other solution that I can do from preventing this from happening.) I know nothing is always 100% fireproof I'm open to listen to any new ideas in preventing this happening to me or anyone else downloading those viruses. I keep my computer updated and usually ran a scan with Norton after I have downloaded any new files with LW, the first time I didn't run a scan. Or do I just uninstall LW and pay for a more secure service.
