I've tried gnuecleus as well and don't like how the system keeps pinging my server until it allows it to download. The fact that I see all of these requests, makes me want to limit the number of files I share as well as selecting those IP address on ingnore. I tried Kazza lite, and the selection on there is decent, however the application is slow when switching screens or selecting other items (Java issues?) I also don't like the fact that you can't see what types of MP3 encoding speeds the song's are. The good thing is that it does have auto resume, switchable to other servers of like files if the server you are on suddenly disconnects or fails downloading. Most of the songs on the Kazza lite finds are MP3's at 128K Encoding or less, which I don't find appealing. What I need is a new version of Gnotella or better yet... get rid of all of the gneucleus.
Oh one more feature I did like about Bearshare, gnotella and Kazza lite is the ability to browse the connected server for other files. (I find that really nice to be able to get suggestions from other people's file collections). Kazza has a nice feature built in on that. Gnotella and bearshare go to a web interface.
Bad thing about Kazza is that you don't have multiple searches like gnotella. You could save your last 3 searches with Gnotella. If you search on something different with Kazza lite you lose the information on the previous search.
Does anyone know if Kazza lite is on the Gnutella network, I heard it is on the Limewire, Fastrack network.
Well, I'll still use Gnotella for the time being. |
