http://www.gnutellaforums.com/345936-post2.html has some tips on searching & if necessary removing hosts (or restarting LW can sometimes have same effect). Search technique can make a big difference. Either being too specific or too general can have either good/bad effects.

BTW you might even prefer the Beta which appears quite stable & has some nice improvements: LimeWire 5.2.6 (Beta) - Lime Wire
