have you run HiJackThis and even tried to find out if your system has been jacked?
the scenario you describe about a trojan filled installer suggests there is indeed the possibility that your browser has been compromised, been there, done that, worn that shirt...luckily I was semi coherent and noticed the tab I was on wasn't https when it was supposed to be..ran HiJackThis and found the problem, fixed it, and I went on with life...
you might even has a malware cookie floating around...dunno, but it is a possibility...of course its a possibility that the installer was from LW.com(.org) and it was compromised...
