You can't listen to the file
Before you D/L, but you can Preview the file Before it finishes downloading. If it's something you don't like or wasn't expecting, just delete the file before it finishes downloading.
I'm speaking on older versions of LW. I've not tried any of the LW versions after 4.xx....
