Unfortunately LW 5 requires Java 1.6 (6) which apple did not make available for OSX 10.4, also Java 1.6 apple only made in 64 bit technology which can only be used on the newer intel machines. So you are limited to using LW 4.
You will need to remove the install limewire.pkg file from receipts folder to be able to install an earlier version of LW else the system will not allow you to. Receipts folder sample image, which Birdy's link also links to but indirectly.

Likewise my fastest G4 was a 720 version, which runs Tiger. I now use a MacPro from Feb last year which is one of their intel machines.
