Default External IP Address

I just had an extra thought, if you are using a modem router then LW and/or windows Local Area Connection Status would not show you the IP address that you were showing to the world, only your internal one.

You see, a modem router substitutes your internal IP for an external one and I would presume a multi-user cable system would do exactly the same thing.

So, if you have a modem router, multi-user cable modem or any other multi-user system used to access the Internet and you still want to see your external IP address then you have to use a site like CMyIP or your modem's configuration page.
