Check here for how to find the preferences folder (folder is named LimeWire) in Vista: LimeWire Pref Folder in Vista
Make sure that LW is completely closed (check in Task Manager) before deleting the prefs folder, otherwise it will have no effect

Not sure what you mean about turning off auto load If you mean disabling LW running at system startup - which version of LW are you using?
