I'm a newcomer, so excuse any blatant tones of naivety.
1. Windows XP
2. Using Avast for antivirus but Frostwire is an exception.
3. Just went from 256 mhz to 768 mhz of RAM
4. 51.5 GB free space available
5. Cable internet, with bandwidth higher than T3
6. Dynex router, model ARRIS
7. Connecting from a PC computer that's in the living room, the main internet connection is in the bedroom on my boyfriend's PC.
8. I have Frostwire version 4.18.5
9. Cox is the ISP.
10. Went to
http://www3.limewire.com:6346/, says my test worked.
11. As above, I'm sharing a network with a PC in my bedroom that has the main internet connection.
12. This is a new problem for me, but I am 4 years experienced with Limewire/Frostwire.
13. I have a Turbo-Charged connection every time, all the time. And there is no brick wall, so a firewall isn't detected by it.
14. Port-forwarding is enabled for my router. 15. As above, I'm using Avast antivirus, and Frostwire is an exception.
16. I live in the United States.
17. I moved house in November, and I seem to remember not getting as many results streaming back then as well. I never had that problem where I used to live because I had Embarq/Centurylink, or for another reason that I'm unaware of. I've since updated Java and Frostwire, even tried Limewire Pro but that had the same problem. Almost no results showed up so I deleted it and returned to Frostwire.
As for my issue, I'll open Frostwire, my recently increased RAM will open it instantly. I'll search for something common, or press Whats New and get practically nothing. A couple will show up but nothing that I'm looking for.
In the Monitor Tab, I see there are a handful of outgoing connections with bandwidth of .0005 or something. I don't know if I need this since I'm on a leaf node client, but I thought that detail might help.
In the mean time, I'm relying on torrents for music and it sucks because the individual songs I need for projects are out there waiting for me to download them, probably crying because I cannot.
Please help a newcomer with a problem!!!
Thanks,
Nicolette.
