LW isn't a good torrent client & is banned from many private trackers
You'd be better off using a proper torrent client like uTorrent or Vuze (formerly Azureus)

If you do want to persevere with LW, try disabling performance options: Tools > Options > Advanced > Performance. Disable DHT & TLS > ok.
