Mac never released a Java 1.6 for 32-bit machines for OSX 10.5. Strangely Mac did release Java 1.6 for 32-bit machines for OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard. So you'd need Snow Leopard if you wanted the most recent LW version. LW 5 needs Java 1.6
