Default Limewire 5.5.14 connection issues?

I've tried just about everything, well it sure seems that way since I've been at this for a few hours now.

I'll try to give you guys all the info you're looking for.

11. Sharing with other computers, etc.?: I am the only computer connected to the wireless network

12. First Try/Experienced: I've been using Limewire for years and have never had any problems.

13. b) How many red/green/grey bars: I see five grey bars next to "Connecting.." at the bottom left hand side of the screen.

Note: It says to check Tools>Advanced Tools to see if I'm behind a firewall or not, but on that screen there is nothing.

14. Router Set-up Port Forwarding or UPnP: UPnP is enabled

15. Security Programs: Spyware Doctor & Windows Defender

16. Country: Canada

17. Any Recent Changes?: I have just recently upgraded to 5.5.14, I have also recently installed Spyware Doctor but the problem was there beforehand.

NOTE:
I have tried deleting the entire preferences directory,
I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling Limewire,
I have disabled all performance options and OOB searching,
I have tried deleting the gnutella.net file
I have uninstalled java then installed the latest version
I have tried changing the listening port

Can anyone help me, pleease!
