Hi,
I live in east TX, where my only options of internet connection are dial up and this
company that has monopoly of the business in the area around me, when we started to use their service everything was fine, after a couple of years, we start to notice bandwidth being cut to half sometimes 3/4.
Recently we started to try out online game that has peer to peer functions built in to their patching client for their game, then found out the ISP is blocking any form of file sharing and peer to peer, we can't even go to forums online or use Google to search for solution such as "patching game without torrent or p2p...
any website or forums online threads and such contains words torrent will result an error page for us
we have tried to look for other options with limited searching options, we found some stuff like using proxy, but we don't want to do anything that may result our ISP cancels our service.... any ideas? Is this legal for the ISP to do so? they apparently added extra notes to their term of use page regarding not supporting file sharing 2 years or so AFTER we signed up with them
not sure If this is against the forum rule but the game we are trying to get it finish installing is F**l Fant**y XIV...yes the game wont even finish install because the installation included some file patching with their patch client that has peer 2 peer built in.
thank you
