Do the same songs play on your computer? Have you checked each individual song that you burned onto the CD? Some of the songs might be duds/fake. These kinds of fake files get spammed onto the gnutella network by sponsored organisations as a means to prevent file sharing of copyright files.
We normally recommend checking all files downloaded with your virus checker first. Secondly, all video and audio files can be checked by this player
VLC - (click on link). If they don't play with VLC, there's a 99% chance they are fake files.
Next point is how the CD was burnt. Ensure it was burnt onto a CD-R, not a CD-RW unless you have a newer kind of cd player that can play cd-rw disks.
Next point is, be sure you burnt the songs as Audio CD, not as mp3 or standard files backup cd. You need to check the settings of your burner to be sure it's standard Audio CD.
I guess another point is brand of CD. Some CD-R's made in China or Taiwan are of extremely poor quality, will not read well in CD players & they deteriorate over time, a little like fruit left in open they eventually go bad.
