We should really be discussing this topic in the Connection Problems section of the forums.
I would suggest you try different Gnutella.net files to see which one works.
The one I uploaded a few days ago (originated from OSX & now hosted at iFileit) I just tried out for Windows 2000, with LW 4.16.7 & it connected very quickly. Other things to try listed here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html
