FrostWire version 4 will connect to the Gnutella network. Version 5 will not.
If you cannot connect to the gnutella network, sounds like some connection problems with your set up. Check these tips: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html which would apply to LPE. See the LW 4 connection tips if you prefer to use FW.

Make a note of the link at bottom of those pages, that if none of those tips work for you, post back your system details.
