I'm not sure if much development is still happening with Acquisition because the developer used the LimeWire code, with his own interface. And as you may know, LimeWire company closed almost a year ago.
The connection issue is something that has hit all Acquisition users. I haven't tried the program for a long time. I cannot remember how Acquisition organised its preferences & whether it used the identical gnutella.net connection file. But if it does have the same, that is what will need to be replaced.
