GTK-Gnutella is a good choice if you have downloaded that program.
It has basic & advanced settings, I'd recommend basic until you get to understand the program a little better. GTK-Gnutella has lots of statistics that can be displayed.
Basically, you add some files to share. This actually helps you in your searches because it brings other people closer to you for finding in search results. Search the file you wish, best to do a specific kind of search such as video or audio, etc. Then select the file from the search results you wish to download and click the download button.
