I installed Windows 8 and same issue. BearStart program simply does not work. And the installer for the other version says it can only be installed on versions of Windows designed for the following processor architextures: x86
(BTW I like the Windows 8 compatibility checker.)

Anyway, I am going to try some experimenting around to see if I can find a solution.
