If LW does not connect for you, try FrostWire or Phex instead. FrostWire looks very similar to the older LW 4 version. Phex is not a LW copy and has its own design.
If they struggle to connect, then there are connectfixes for them also. If none of them connect then there must be some other kind of problem.
