I am using an iMac DV. My Limewire version is 2.4. My ISP is Verizon DSL. I am not behind a firewall.

I have not been able to connect for a week. My Telnet client replies "gnutella ok" when I try that test. My ISP tells me there's nothing wrong. I have tried every connection address I can find in these newsgroups, including changing the port to 6347, 6348, and 6349, and trying "bearshare." I have increased Limewire's memory to 48 MB. I have tried turning virtual memory off. Nothing seems to work!

Exactly what happens when I start Limewire is: Program starts, checks for updates, etc., and then tries to connect. It runs through all of the addresses and connot connect to any of them. It then refuses to try. When I select "Connect" from the file menu, the indicator turns green for approx. 1 second and then goes red. Nothing appears in the connections tab.

This problem began when I upgraded to version 2.4. O, for the simpler days, when the user interface was less attractive but at least the d*** thing worked!

I have tried EVERY suggestion I can find in these newsgroups. It has taken me over 4 hours to read them and try them. What else can I do?
