Legality of gnutella protocol? Is it possible to legally commercialize the gnutella protocol? LimeWire was probably the highest-profile commercial product to be based on gnutella, and the company was forced to shut down because it couldn't control its users' behavior. Is it possible to set up a legitimate business using a fully decentralized, peer-to-peer search protocol like gnutella, or is it the algorithmic equivalent of trafficking in arms or meth?
Thanks,
