Adam Fisk posted a reply about this in another topic. There are several of us who just downloaded Limewire and have no "shared" folder, nor can we add one. I reinstalled the program and now have a "shared" folder. However, I still can not add any others. He said that he would look into it.
You could always try the reinstall like I did for a temp solution.
