I only know about Windows 7. You can reload the driver for the mouse. Is your computer running clean? Run a cleaning program and shut your computer down and reboot. I had a desktop running XP that did this a while back that had a bad keyboard and it was not the mouse. But I believe you are running a laptop. Sorry I am not of more help.
