Can't get any downloads to work I just got a broadband connection lately
and downloaded a few Gnutella clients.
It seems that 9.5 out of 10 download
attempts always fail. The one and only
file I'm intrested in downloading is a 699MB
DivX and I've found one filename that seems
to be the best quality and authentic.
If I'm incredibly lucky I can actually get a
connection but usually it will suddenly get dropped. For the hosts that I have managed
to connect to, the download speed is unexceptably slow. 2-4 Days for a download
isn't a good idea because it will probably be
disconnected before it finishes. The download
speed sticks around 0.3k to 2k(Sometimes it will spike to 6k and twice I've seen it spike to 20k). I believe that cable modems are know for being fast, not downloading as slow as my old dialup.
Also, any idea why success in searching
seems to vary between Gtk-Gnutella and
QTella(Linux clients)? |
