Exclamation Eternal Requery: Subnet Hosts

One very common cause of the Eternal Requery Countdown (as well as consequential stress and violence) when attempting to d/l files is the presence of a lot of inaccessible subnet hosts in search lists which are marked in red if you have the host IP list activated (Location in the title-bar popup menu) :

192.168.*.*
10.*.*.*
172.16.*.*

Since the host IP list is not turned on by default and no warning is given when attempting to d/l from these hosts, many LW users may assume that the Eternal Requery is caused by network problems, saturated hosts, software bugs etc. when in fact the hosts are simply unavailable.

Possible solutions:

1. Add an option to automatically hide all subnet hosts instead of marking them red - perhaps selected by default - so that they don't appear in the search list.

2. Allow ranges in the Filter Host IP list. As far as I can make out, LW only allows you to filter out a specific host (192.168.3.0 for example) and not ranges using wildcards (ie. 192.168.*.*)

3. Add a warning when attempting to download from one of these hosts (with an option to disable it).

4. Mark the whole line of the search result in red so that you can see it even if the host IP is turned off.
