Thanks for bringing this up. We have had our eyes set on skins for quite some time. The problem is that it's a little bit difficult to implement in Java, and about six months ago we decided that it was not one of our top priorities given the effort that it would require. We do, however, have plans to revisit this issue sometime down the road.

So, you may see skins in LimeWire at some point, and we agree that it would be a very nice feature.
