Strange - I did not experience any crashes nor do I have any performance problems with my Athlon 800, 256MB Ram, Linux, JRE 1.4.0 and LimeWire (running more or less 24/7).

I know LimeWire can become very slow when sharing lots of files but with 1400 shared files (~10Gigs) I don't have any problems at all.
