Shareaza is flying high
Default Shareaza v1.5 released, and it's sexier than ever

Shareaza v1.5 is sexier than ever

Really, it is. Even if you don’t normally find yourself attracted to software, Shareaza 1.5 will be the exception. The new search interface combines simplicity with power and performance to deliver the best P2P experience in town. If you’re not using Shareaza, stop wasting your time and download it now.

In true Shareaza style, it’s now possible to choose between two completely different search views so you can use Gnutella the way you want to. Check it out:

Cool huh? But that’s not all. The entire search system has been completely torn down and rebuilt from the ground up, delivering a whole new level of performance. Searching for something with 5000+ results? No problem, the new Shareaza takes loads like this in its stride. Everything is done cleanly in real-time, with real time filtering, grouping and sorting – none of that manual sort crap.

Ever run a search that you wanted to come back to later on, but had to turn off your PC? You’ll have to do it all over again, right? Wrong. Shareaza 1.5 now saves all your searches AND your search results. It even saves composite searches, filtering conditions, schemas and metadata columns. In fact it pretty much saves everything – and automatically starts collecting NEW results next time you connect! You might not realise how cool this is until you see it in action – but it really is cool.

We've also added new metadata tooltips! Now its easy to get the low-down on any file you like without having to mess with your columns – simply point to it with your mouse, and an easy to read information box will appear describing the file. Plus there’s the all new searchbar which makes it even easier to download files, check Bitzi™ tickets and even filter or refine your search results, all without leaving the window or dealing with complicated menus. Just point and click!

Up until now Gnutella downloads have been pretty boring to watch. Shareaza always had the cool fragment display on the transfers page, but lets be honest, we generally have better things to do. But what if you still want to keep track of an important download? The answer is the new Shareaza download monitor window:

Now downloading from Gnutella is just as easy as downloading from the web! The monitor window automatically appears after clicking a Shareaza-powered web-link, or it can be shown for specific downloads from the old transfers window. You can see a graphical view of the file complete with estimated time remaining, and a live bandwidth graph. And now you can send the monitor window to the system tray, place it “always on top” and even remote control the download without having to open up Shareaza! Just right-click for the usual options.

Of course, these aren’t the only new features in Shareaza – as always we’ve taken into account all of the great suggestions from Shareaza users, and added heaps. There’s still more to come, but if you have a suggestion, please send it our way. With your help, Shareaza is building the future of Gnutella and peer-to-peer networking.

And if you haven’t used Shareaza before, we haven’t even scratched the surface of its immense array of cool features in this news story. Real live upload queues, partial file sharing, ultrapeers, metadata second to none.. you name it we’ve got it. Check out shareaza.com to find out why everyone is so excited about this application.
