Limewire does not impose any format on a file... what ever it is, is what you get. I am certain that your local machine is seeing an MP3 file and associating it with Real Player. You can change the association to your favorite MP3 player... as I am not a mac user I am linking to someone elses response given recently in the MAC forum--- Use this link
