Default Problems with 388

I had some problems installing 388. Running XP w/sp1.

I was running 375 with no problems at all. I downloaded 388 and tried to install it on top of 375. Got errors on the install, but then it seemed to run but couldn't connect. If i went into Network/Advanced settings I'd get another error. I the grabbed 379 and tried to install that on top of 388. Got a similar problem. Uninstalled 378 and tried again...same problem.

I then uninstalled, went into the registry and deleted:
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1417001333-113007714-1957994488-1008\Software\Xolox

which was left over by the uninstall.

I then reinstalled 379 and it worked fine. I did the same thing with 388 and then it worked fine as wel.

So what seened to work for me was to unistall the software via the control panel, go into the registry and delete the key:HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1417001333-113007714-1957994488-1008\Software\Xoloxl

And then do a fresh install of the new build.

Note that by doing this all your old preferences are wiped out.

But that wasn't a big deal for me.

So 388 is working now and the performace on connecting and searching appears to be much improved.

Thanks for a terrific product!
