I don't think LimeWire has control over the scroll wheel support, since Sun's java.swing is completely responsible for it. Actually you won't find a single line of code in the LimeWire sources that tries to do anything with mouse wheel support. - I fear it's a bug in your java runtime environment, since mouse wheel support works with the latest LimeWire for linux.
