Thumbs up

Ok, I've gotten the LimeWire installer to work in X, and this is how it's done.

First I'll assume that you left the file name the same, and that is "LimeWireMacOSX.sh" without the quotes, and capitalization is important! (remember that when in the Terminal). I'll also assume that the installer in on the desktop.

You may need to me the admin to do this, but I'm not sure.

Open up Terminal.

Type "cd ~/Desktop" (that's a tidle, just under the escape key). This will change the directory that terminal is currently focused on to the Desktop folder inside the current user's folder (the ~ = user's directory). Press return (obviously).

Now type "sh LimeWireMacOSX.sh" and hit return. It runs the file in a shell. You should soon see "Preparing to Install…" if all worked.

It will take a little while, but the Terminal will launch Java and then the installer will run in that. Follow the instructions and it's Done!
