Bandwidth Limits Hello,
Is it possible to implement a bandwidth limiter for uploading? I have a wanadoo cable account with 16 Kbyte/sec upstream, but if I use the full upstream for more than 2-5 minutes, the internet-connection is reset. And because I have a dynamic IP-address, it is impossible to download any complete file from me.
If I cap the total bandwidth to 12 Kbyte/sec, there aren't any problems (tested with gtk-gnutella).
There goes my opportunity to promote my band (broshim) on gnutella... I am the only source of broshim mp3's and ogg's on the network, but if someone starts downloading he will never get the whole file. And to find me again when I've got a new IP-addres....
As a sidenote, I think this is a pretty effective anti-p2p technique implemented by wanadoo: I don't think you can sustain an ultrapeer on the wanadoo network. |
