I'd be happy with the ability to store the IP address of a good source, and then come back to that source to either chat with them or browse files.
Provide the ability to key in IP address so that peer to peer inside subnets could be used. For example:
- Two PCs are on a network using DHCP.
- Both users can determine their IP addresses.
- If at least one user can key in the IP address of the other PC, then that user could connect and browse.
Great benefit for informal file sharing when an ftp server is not available or when users do not want to incur the double time penalty of uploading to a server from the "pitcher" then downloading from the server on the receiving (catcher) computer.
Provide simple list of saved links, with 2 fields: IP address and Comments.
Display online status and provide link to browse host and, maybe, chat. |
